Workshop Overview
Effective teaching is both complex and essential. This workshop equips educators at every level—teachers, principals, and superintendents—with practical tools and strategies to strengthen their instructional practices and improve student achievement.
Discussion and learning will focus on the importance of a common language for talking about instruction and a framework for effective teaching using the New Art and Science of Teaching framework as an example, which provides teachers with research-based strategies they can use in their classrooms.

Kristin Poage
Kristin Poage is a contributing author and presenter for Marzano Resources. She is a middle school principal, professional development presenter, and district leader. Her career in education has led her to work in areas of student engagement, grading, instruction, and leadership.
As a presenter for Marzano Resources, she leads schools and districts through the implementation of standards-based grading. She has also been instrumental in providing tips and techniques for highly engaged classrooms. Recently, she has joined the governing body and become one of the certification reviewers for the High Reliability Teacher certification program.
